  • Emergency – On campus: call UNSW security (9385 6666) to connect to ambulance 
  • ARAFMI - provides support, education and advocacy for the carers, family and friends of those experiencing mental illness across NSW.
  • BEING - the independent, state-wide peak organisation for people with a lived experience of mental illness (consumers)
  • Black Dog Institute - lots of helpful information; they develop new, and more effective, strategies for people living with mental illness
  • Grow - Support groups who meet weekly
  • Headspace - phone: 1800 650 890; online chat; many drop in locations
  • Mental Health Line - Phone 1800 011 511 – government number for connecting people to the right care. 
  • ReachOut - practical tools and support to help young people
  • SANE - 1800 18 7263 – support, training, and education 
  • Suicide Call Back Service - 1300 659 467 - 24-hour, nationwide service that provides telephone and online counselling to people 15 years and over who fit one of the following categories: (1) People who are suicidal (2)People caring for someone who is suicidal (3) People bereaved by suicide (4) Health professionals supporting people affected by suicide.
